Magic Protection (Hotkey 4, Unlocked at Hero Level 25): Lets you use a magic spell to buff your defense, temporarily making you take less damage from enemies' attacks. Upgrading this skill decreases its cooldown. Toxic Stab (Hotkey 3, Unlocked at Hero Level 12): Lets you perform a melee attack that poisons an enemy, causing their health to drain over time. Upgrading this skill makes the stun last longer. Shield Bash (Hotkey 2, Unlocked at Hero Level 6): Lets you bash an enemy with your shield to stun them for a few seconds. Upgrading this skill increases the chances your enemy will be weakened. Double Slash (Hotkey 1, Unlocked at Hero Level 2): Lets you perform a more advanced melee attack that hits an enemy twice and has a small chance to weaken the enemy so they deal less damage. Each one has to be activated by either clicking on its icon or pressing its hotkey in order to use it, and enters a cooldown once used. These are special abilities that you can use to give yourself an edge over your enemies. Critical Hits are triggered randomly and deal double damage by default, but if you click anywhere on the screen at the right time, the attack will become a Super Critical Hit which deals triple damage instead (this amount can be increased even further by upgrading the Deadly talent). Critical: Determines the amount of health you have and the chances you'll score a Critical Hit. Dodge: Determines the amount of health you have and the chances you'll dodge an enemy's attack. Block: Determines the amount of health you have and the chances you'll block an enemy's attack with your shield. Ranged attacks are triggered randomly, and the warrior still gets to use a melee attack or skill after using a ranged attack. Accuracy: Determines the amount of damage you do with ranged attacks, as well as the chance of a ranged attack being triggered. Melee attacks are your basic attack that the warrior performs automatically unless you activate a skill for him to use. Strength: Determines the amount of damage you do with melee attacks. The Hero screen is where you can go to view your warrior's stats and skills, and upgrade them when you level up. There are also a few other locations you can visit - namely the Museum, the Home, and the Shop - to rake in more bonuses to help you progress through the game. Both training and battling earn you XP which goes to levelling up your warrior each time the warrior levels up, you earn some points to increase the warrior's stats and invest in upgrades. Winning a level earns you some money and unlocks the next level. Each level has you fight several enemies in a row, and the goal is to defeat all the enemies without getting beaten yourself. Battling entails entering the arena and playing through its levels. There are five minigames, each one representing a different stat, and you can play them whenever and for however long you want.
Training involves you playing minigames to buff your warrior's stats so he can become strong enough to defeat tougher enemies. The gameplay of Swords & Souls has two main parts: training and battling. Now the soul warrior must train up, fight battles, and rake in big money to become the greatest arena champ of all time! Luckily, a living scarecrow named Sir Scarow takes the young lad under his wing and offers to train him to be a mighty warrior.
